ABICOR BINZEL’s engineering department in Frederick, MD currently has an immediate opening for a Design Engineer.
The Design Engineer will be responsible for carrying out the duties of the Engineering department, including design, research, prototyping, engineering documentation, estimating and process improvement. The successful candidate will collaborate with design/purchasing and shop/assembly teams on design projects. Design Engineer Responsibilities:
- Work with sales and product management teams to assess and analyze customers specific product needs and provide the best solution
- Use of Solid Works software to create models and drawings of products
- Research new materials and methods of development based on customer and/or design needs
- Organize and maintain existing engineering records
- Construct prototypes and confirm designs with design/purchasing team
- Perform physical testing on engineering prototypes
- Ensure components and assemblies adhere to applicable industry and business standards
Design Engineer Skills Desired:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 3+ years’ experience with hands on mechanical design
- Equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered
- In-depth knowledge of SolidWorks 3D CAD software
- Knowledge of metal fabrication processes
- Ability to work both independently and within team structure
- Impeccable attention to detail
- Ability to plan, schedule, coordinate and problem solve effectively
- Ability to interact with all levels within organization includes sales, office and manufacturing/production to complete all tasks
- Ability to think outside the box to meet customer expectations
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, Word), as well as ERP and CRM systems

ABICOR BINZEL’s product department in Frederick, MD currently has an immediate opening for a Senior Product Manager.
The Senior Product Manager will lead the product department to develop new products viable for the market from inception through launch and sales. They will be responsible for all product categories, in sales and profitability by working with engineering, sales and end users in our market to discover areas of need and improvement for current and future products.
Senior Product Manager Essential Functions:
- Lead the Product Team, which consists of Product Managers and Product Specialists, including mentoring, department staffing, discipline.
- Work with end users to gain Voice of Customer (VOC) to guide the direction of new products and product improvements. Includes spending time in the field, customer advisory groups, etc.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Sales, and Production for new product development and product enhancements with both domestic and international colleagues.
- Attend and work trade shows and fairs. Working with the Marketing Department on best products and layout for display. Organize and coordinate with the staff responsible to attend.
- Stakeholder for all product groups profitability and sales. This includes advising on future direction of products including but not limited to new product development, alterations, and obsolete product phase-out.
- Make decisions on what parts and products get added into our ERP.
- Run and coordinate product launches.
- Work independently and with accountability
- Operate and behave in an honest and ethical manner whenever acting as an agent of Abicor Binzel.
Senior Product Manager Desired Qualifications:
- Must be a self-starter
- Effective communication skills both internal and external
- Computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Punctual to appointments and commitments
- Follow through on promises and commitments
- Honest and ethical
- Must be able to travel 10 - 20% (not all travel will include overnight stays)
- 3 - 8 years of experience in leadership of a department with multiple subordinates
- Product Management experience
- **Welding industry knowledge is extremely helpful, but not required**
