Heavy Fabrication
Demanding welding tasks – special equipment
High-performance and flexible welding equipment is required for heavy engineering, which optimally supports the welders at work. In this case, thick-walled parts, some of which are difficult to access in forced positions, must be welded manually. The welding seams here must be highly stress-resistant and fulfil the robust requirements. ABICOR BINZEL offers a wide selection of high-performance standard and special torches for manual and partially mechanised welding as well as special solutions for automatic welding, for example, in the serial manufacturing of assemblies.
In the workshop, outdoors or underground
Regardless of whether in road construction, agriculture or mining: Heavy machinery is usually made of particularly robust and wear-resistant materials and places the highest requirements on manual welders and the welding technology used. In production and repair work, welding must often be done in changing positions, forced positions and overhead.
Superstructures and attachments such as cab assemblies or containers are less demanding in terms of the material. While welding, the focus is more on the easy handling and optimum accessibility of all welding points. In mobile cranes, it is also important to find optimal solutions for lightweight construction. This includes, in particular, a welding process which is optimally adapted to special materials with high yield strength and ensures that the material properties do not change due to the welding.
Robust and high-performance torch solutions
Thick sheets and resilient seams require extremely high-performance welding equipment. This is provided, for example, by the liquid-cooled torches of the MB EVO PRO series, which are particularly suitable for the high amperage range. In manual welding, the MIG/MAG torch series MB EVO PRO, ABIMIG® A T LW or ABIMIG® W T are also often used. These torches are extremely efficient, ergonomically shaped, very light and extremely robust. Depending on the requirements, special torches and changeable necks are used. This also applies to the entire area of repair welding – regardless of whether in the workshop, outdoors or underground mining. ABICOR BINZEL also offers special torch solutions for lightweight construction.
ABICOR BINZEL provides, in addition to torches for manual welding, suitable solutions for partially mechanised welding in all areas of heavy engineering. The trend towards automated welding processes is proving increasingly popular in the production of assemblies or components such as excavator shovels in larger quantities. This increases efficiency, but also increases the requirements on torches and welding equipment. ABICOR BINZEL offers the exactly suitable, reliable, liquid-cooled robot welding torch especially for the joining of thick sheets.
