Replacing the carbon brushes

Electric shock due to electronic component damage
When replacing the carbon brushes, electrical connections must be disconnected and reconnected. Fatal electric shock may occur if electronic components become damaged or improperly uninstalled in the process.
- The carbon brushes should be replaced only by a qualified electrician.
The service life of the first set of carbon brushes at 230 V is approx. 800 hours, at 115 V approx. 500 hours. The service life is reduced by 20% each time the carbon brush is replaced. The carbon brushes may not be replaced more than two times in total. After that, the motor must be replaced.
- Loosen the tension locks on the sides and remove the upper part of the device using the handle.

- Loosen the screws (4×) and remove the cover.

- Remove the carbon brush covers (2×).
- Press down the hook of the cable lug with a screwdriver and remove the cable lug of the connecting cable from the carbon brushes (4×).

- Remove the carbon brushes.
- Dispose of the carbon brushes in accordance with local laws and directives. Disposal

- Insert the new carbon brushes and mount in reverse order.
