Automatic mode

The device is operated in automatic mode (activated automatic start/stop mechanism) as follows:

If the welding process is interrupted, automated cleaning of the filter membranes occurs after a run-on time of 20 seconds.

  1. To activate the automatic start/stop mechanism, set the <Auto/Manual> switch to <Auto>.
  2. Set the <On/Off> switch to <On>.
  3. The filter membranes are cleaned once.

Once the welding process begins, the device receives a signal from the current clamp and automatically starts the fume extraction process. If the welding process is interrupted, extraction stops after 20 seconds. Only then the cleaning process is carried out automatically.

The filter membranes must be cleaned regularly to ensure continuous extraction. The cleaning interval depends on the welding process. We recommend that the filter members are cleaned every 2 hours, however no later than when the service LED illuminates. The service life of the filter membranes can be lengthened if they are cleaned before the service LED illuminates.

NOTE

notice

Shorter service life due to lack of cleaning

If the welding process is interrupted, automated cleaning of the filter membranes occurs only after a run-on time of 20 seconds. If the welding process is started beforehand, no cleaning takes place. The service life of the filter membranes is shortened.

  1. Ensure that the welding process is interrupted at least every 2 hours for a minimum of 20 seconds, or perform manual cleaning.

Running the cleaning process manually

  1. Briefly set the <On/Off> switch to <Off>.
  2. Set the <On/Off> switch to <On>.
  3. The filter membranes are cleaned once.

Once the welding process begins, the device receives a signal from the current clamp and automatically starts the fume extraction process.
